Doublehanded Learn-to-Race

As part of our 'Racing Track' at SYSC, this class is an opportunity for sailors who have taken 420 Beginner to advance their skills. Based on their size, sailors will sail Club 420s or RS Fevas. Sailors will expand on their knowledge of points of sail and learn more about racing, boat speed, spinnakers and the trapeze. Doublehanded Learn-to-Race sailors will focus on increasing confidence in a wide variety of weather conditions.  Ages 10-16, recommended weight between 80 and 180 pounds. Class runs from 1:00pm-4:00pm and meets rain or shine.

Participation Agreement

Every Friday morning at SYSC during our Summer Sessions is Free Sail Friday! From 8:00am-12:00pm, all sailors from that Session are welcome to join us and bring a friend/family member along to take them sailing, give them a tour of the building and grounds, and enjoy some time together on the water! Please get in touch with us if you have any questions about the way Free Sail Friday works, and make sure anyone joining you has a completed waiver.

Base Price: $190.00

What To Wear

Sailors should wear comfortable, close-toed shoes that can get wet! They should also wear clothes that are still comfortable when wet, a hat and sunglasses.

What To Bring

Remember, it can be cooler by the lake. Bring along a towel, sweatshirt or raincoat and sunscreen. We also recommend bringing along a snack and a water bottle. If you have your own lifejacket, bring it with you or wear one of ours.
